Why this matters for your home
HVAC bundles three jobs into one system: heating, ventilation (moving and exchanging air), and air conditioning. In most homes a furnace or heat pump, an AC or coil, the ductwork, the thermostat, and the filtration all work together as one comfort system.
Thinking of it as a single connected system explains why a problem in one part shows up somewhere else — undersized ducts strain a new furnace, a clogged filter freezes a coil. When we diagnose, we look at the whole system instead of just swapping the one part that's complaining.
