Why this matters for your home
The condenser is the outdoor cabinet that houses the compressor, condenser coil, and fan. In cooling mode it releases the heat your system pulled from indoors; in a heat pump, the cycle reverses to gather heat from outside air even in cold weather.
Airflow is everything out here. Grass clippings, cottonwood seeds, and stacked patio furniture choke the coil and force the system to work harder. We recommend keeping two feet of clearance on every side and cleaning the coil yearly so the unit can shed heat efficiently through Minnesota summers.
